The General English Course at Spencer College is designed to help students develop confidence and fluency in everyday English communication. Whether you are a complete beginner or preparing for advanced study, this course provides the language skills needed for academic, professional, and social success in an English-speaking environment.
Our program is delivered from Elementary to Upper-Intermediate (Levels 1–5), allowing students to progress smoothly through each stage of language development. Classes focus on real-life communication, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal academic entry requirements. Students are placed in an appropriate level based on an English placement test before commencement.

Pathways

Successful completion of the Upper-Intermediate Level may provide a pathway into Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses at Spencer College or other institutions.

Course Delivery

  • Levels Offered: 1–5 (Elementary to Upper-Intermediate)
  • Duration: 10 to 58 weeks (depending on entry level and learning goals)
    Study Period: 10 weeks per level
  • Breaks:
    2-week term break after every 10 weeks of study
    6-week Christmas holiday break at the end of the academic year
  • Delivery Mode: Face-to-face classroom learning
    Intake Dates: Ongoing intakes, new students can start every Monday
